Winners of the 2016 Editors’ Choice Awards


The Canadian Society of Magazine Editors (CSME) announced the 2016 Editors’ Choice Award winners on Wednesday, June 8, at a cocktail event at held during the MagNet conference in Toronto. Curtis Gillespie, founding editor of Eighteen Bridges, inspired the crowd of Canadian editors with a rousing speech entitled “Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy: The Skill Set of the 21st Century Editor.”

The big winners of the night were ELLE Canada and Today’s Parent, which took home three awards each, including a tie for magazine of the year, medium circulation. ELLE Canada’s editor-in-chief, Noreen Flanagan, took the coveted editor of the year award.
