President
Bob Sexton is the associate editor of Outdoor Canada magazine. He is a graduate of Ryerson University’s magazine journalism program and has been a CSME member since 2001. He has written for Saturday Night, Canadian Home Workshop, and various music websites. His Outdoor Canada feature, “The Marlin Man of Mexico,” won a 2008 Outdoor Writers of Canada National Communications award.


Vice-President and Treasurer
Now the executive editor of Homemakers magazine, Jessica Ross started out editing the sports section at the University of Guelph’s student paper. She then became an account rep at a Guelph ad agency, before becoming the associate editor and web editor of IE:Money magazine, then managing editor at Canadian Home Workshop.


Communications Director
Freelance editor and writer Allan Britnell is a regular contributor to several Canadian magazines including Canadian Home Workshop, Cottage Life, Harrowsmith Country Life, and Homemakers. Previously he worked as an associate editor at Cottage Life.


Events Coordinator
Currently a freelance editor and writer, Heather Buchan has enjoyed posts on the editorial teams at various Canadian women’s titles including Homemakers, Canadian Living, Canadian House & Home, a brief stint on the Australian edition of People Magazine, Who Weekly and, most recently, as the associate editor at Hello! Canada.


Board Member
Ann Meredith Brown is the editor of Design Edge Canada, a news and business publication for the graphic design industry. Design Edge Canada is a two-time winner of CSME's Editors' Choice Awards, winning Trade Magazine of the Year in 2008 and 2009. Ann has been a CSME member since 2002.


Website Coordinator
As Webmaster of English Media at Transcontinental Media, Dmitry Beniaminov manages sites including Canadian Living, Elle Canada, Outdoor Canada, and Homemakers. He also regularly consults various magazine publishers on their daily web-related challenges and pitfalls. In his spare time he gardens profusely.


Regional Board Members


Vancouver-based Anicka Quin is the managing editor of Western Living magazine, and a member of the professional development committee of the BC Association of Magazine Publishers. Previously, she was managing editor at the environmental magazine Alternatives Journal, and editor-in-chief of id magazine, a Southwestern Ontario alternative weekly.
