The Canadian Society of Magazine Editors was established to be the voice of Canadian editorial professionals in the magazine industry. As a member, you can take advantage of great opportunities for networking while continuing to learn at every event. Each year, CSME hosts a minimum of two luncheon and two evening mixers, which feature dynamic speakers addressing topics that are relevant, timely and engaging for Canadian editors. And join us for our annual summer barbecue – no speakers, no professional development, just relaxed fun with your editing colleagues. Recent events have included:
- Ready for your close-up? Chantal Guertin and Susan Zuzinjak offered members helpful suggestions on succeeding on TV, video and radio. (April 27, 2012)
- Next steps in social media: Jennifer Campbell, Jeremy Barker and Amanda Factor taught us how and when to use Instagram, Pinterest and Tumblr. (January 20, 2012)
- Make sponsored editorial work for everyone: Maureen Halushak and Andrea Kolber shared tips on how sales and editorial can work together to create a better product that works well for readers and for advertisers. (December 1, 2011)
- Brand-building with SIPs: Maryam Sanati and Ryan Kennedy got us thinking about what makes a great special interest publication. (October 5, 2011)
